NTL Healthcare Develops Artificial Intelligence-Based Cervical Cancer Diagnostic Camera... Green Light to the Commercialization

NTL Healthcare (CEO Tae-hee Kim), Korean obstetrics and gynecology specialized company, announced on the 6th that it is preparing to commercialize its "cervical screening artificial intelligence (AI) diagnostic medical camera" development project.

The project undertaken by NTL is part of the "AI-based high value-added technology development project" promoted by the Small and Medium Venture Business Department, which supports the development of new products that are easy to create high value-added by applying AI technology to existing products.

The goal of this project is to develop a medical camera for accurate cervical cancer screening diagnosis. The device is equipped with a high-intensity light source and clear image quality to reduce visual interference from the reflection of cervical mucus and to obtain images optimized for the cervix, vulva, and vagina, with design features that reflect user convenience in UI and UX.

It combines AI automatic reading function with existing remote cervical cancer screening system, and currently has accumulated big data and is developing and commercializing various medical image deep learning models.

NTL Healthcare official said, "We plan to start selling 'camera and web screening program with reduced light reflection technology' directly and indirectly through domestic obstetrics and gynecology clinics and overseas distribution networks from the second half of this year.”

Meanwhile, NTL has been supplying screening systems to over 1,000 obstetrics and gynecology clinics and screening centers for about 27 years since introducing cervical magnification imaging and reading system in Korea in 1996. By utilizing big data accumulated cervical cancer image big data, NTL aims to provide smart medical services through an AI and medical professionals collaborative system.
